Holos Transpersonal Immersion Retreat
A guided journey into expanded awareness, integration, and embodied understanding.
The Holos Transpersonal Immersion Retreat is a multi-day experiential gathering designed for individuals seeking meaningful inner exploration through transpersonal psychology, expanded states of consciousness, and intentional integration.
Held in the natural landscape of Costa Rica, this retreat weaves together experiential practices, teaching, reflection, and community dialogue. Participants are supported in exploring experiences that move beyond the personal narrative and into deeper layers of psyche, spirit, and collective awareness, all within a grounded and well-facilitated container.
This immersion is designed not only to offer powerful experiences, but to help participants understand, integrate, and embody what arises in ways that are sustainable and life-enhancing.
What Is a Transpersonal Immersion Retreat?
A transpersonal immersion retreat invites participants to explore dimensions of experience that extend beyond the individual self, including archetypal, relational, ecological, and evolutionary aspects of consciousness.
Rooted in transpersonal psychology, this retreat provides a structured environment where expanded states can be approached with curiosity, context, and care. Rather than seeking peak experiences alone, the focus is on meaning-making, integration, and the cultivation of insight that can be applied to daily life.
Participants are supported in engaging both the experiential and reflective dimensions of transformation, allowing inner discoveries to be understood rather than bypassed.
Key Practices and Experiences
Throughout the retreat, participants move through a thoughtfully sequenced flow of experiences designed to support depth, safety, and coherence. These include:
Holotropic Breathwork sessions
Guided integration circles
Sound healing and ritual practices
Temescal (sweat lodge)
Nature immersion and contemplative time
Creative and somatic integration tools
Each practice serves a distinct role within the overall arc of the retreat, allowing participants to explore, rest, reflect, and integrate without overwhelm.
Time is intentionally built into the schedule for rest, personal reflection, and unstructured integration, recognizing that insight often arises in moments of stillness rather than activity.
Holotropic Breathwork and Expanded States of Consciousness
Holotropic Breathwork is a well-established experiential modality that uses conscious breathing, music, and focused presence to facilitate access to expanded states of consciousness.
Within this retreat, breathwork sessions are carefully prepared and supported, allowing participants to explore inner landscapes that may include emotional release, symbolic imagery, somatic awareness, and transpersonal insight.
Rather than interpreting or directing experiences, facilitators support participants in trusting their own inner process while providing integration frameworks that help make sense of what arises.
Emphasis is placed on grounding and nervous system regulation before and after each session, supporting participants in returning to baseline with clarity and stability.
This practice can support:
Emotional release and insight
Somatic awareness and integration
Psychological clarity
Connection to transpersonal dimensions of experience
Participants are fully supported before, during, and after each session.
Teaching Faculty and Special Guests
This year, we are honored to welcome Dr. Christopher Bache, professor, philosopher, and pioneering consciousness researcher, as our keynote teacher. His presence will help guide participants in understanding their ceremonial experiences through the lens of transpersonal theory, deep time, and the evolution of consciousness.
Dr. Bache’s teachings offer a rare bridge between lived experience and scholarly insight, helping participants contextualize expanded states within a broader framework of human and planetary transformation.
Teachings, Dialogue, and Integration Practices
Participants will take part in learning sessions and integration practices with Dr. Christopher Bache, offering conceptual grounding, reflective dialogue, and context for understanding transpersonal and ceremonial experiences.
These sessions support participants in:
Understanding transpersonal experiences through theory and context
Exploring questions that arise from ceremony and breathwork
Engaging in collective meaning-making through facilitated dialogue
Rather than presenting fixed interpretations, these sessions encourage curiosity, discernment, and personal sense-making, honoring the uniqueness of each participant’s experience.
Integration as the Foundation
Integration is the foundation of this immersion and is woven throughout the retreat rather than reserved for the end.
Participants are supported through:
Daily integration circles
Facilitated reflection and journaling
Somatic grounding practices
Ongoing guidance from experienced facilitators
This approach helps ensure that experiences are metabolized rather than overwhelming, and that insights can be carried forward into relationships, work, and daily life.
Integration practices emphasize embodiment, helping participants notice how insights live in the body, emotions, and behavior, not just in cognition.
